Soft Pastel Paintings
Welcome to my world! I paint vibrant colourful landscapes full of joyful marks and dramatic light. I paint happiness…often exuberant, sometimes calm. I love colour and am fascinated with sunlight and shadow.
Many of my paintings start life on a road trip (love them) or walk on the beach.
Original
Oil Pastel Paintings
With simplified shapes and black edges, my oil pastel paintings are bright, saturated and jewel-like. They often have big skies and a bit of a breeze.
People often comment on the colour. It reminds them of places they like and days that were happy. I like that. They thrill me too.
Prints
A handful of my original paintings are available as fine art prints.
They’re professionally printed on textured velvet rag paper with archival inks and hand signed.

About Nicola
Colour is one of my passions. It’s how I fell in love with pastels and the reason I accidentally became an interior designer.
I also love being in beautiful places. They thrill me. I feel them. So it’s no surprise that most of my paintings are vibrant landscapes.
My art journey began a long time ago with a paintbrush and the colour pink…

In the press
I’m thrilled to be featured in online art magazine ‘Aotearoa Artist – The New Zealand Artists Magazine’.
‘The Art of Coming Full Circle: Nicola Warner’s Journey to the Easel’, tells the story of my scenic route to becoming an artist, my love of coffee and my pursuit of ‘juicy light’.
